From our picnic spot on the cliffs, Beg Douar Beach looked like standard North Brittany fare; rocks, rock pools and a sandy-bottomed inlet to swim in.  When we descended after lunch, we realised that the glistening white sand was in fact made up of many shells in all manner of sizes and shapes.  This is a clutch of them that we found nestled in a cleft on the rocks.
