Our summer holiday opened up new territory for spotting Dutch Cultural Ducks.
Only a couple of hours after we rolled of the ferry we spotted this Duck with a Pearl Earring at the Mauritshuis in the Hague.
In Amsterdam we hit pay dirt with a whole row of Dutch Cultural Ducks.
On our way back to the ferry we stopped in Delft and were rewarded with this beautiful Delft Duck.

More fun than stamps!
I’ve never heard of this before; it’s so quirky and unusual but I love the idea of individualising ducks!

I started to notice them earlier this year, they make me smile!
These are fab! We also acquired some rubber ducks during our summer holiday, which the kids chased along the open gutters/streams in Freiburg’s old city centre.

Sounds brilliant, I would love to do that
I’d love to meet someone who collects them. Do they keep them in the bathroom or a display cabinet? #MySundayPhoto

I like to think that collectors keep them on a shelf with each duck floating in it’s own tiny bath
Duck with a pearl earing. I absolutely love it! Not that I would usually associate the netherlands with ducks. #MySundayPhoto

Hi Catherine, I do like your form of bird spotting and it doesn’t require hours in a hidey hole. I never see fun looking ducks! I do like the Delft duck, that’s one that’s not afraid to stand out!

I’m not good with binoculars either!
Catherine — I found a Napoleon rubber ducky in the Invalides gift shop in Paris a few weeks ago! Yes, he came home with me and is sitting on the bathroom window shelf with my others. I also got one with an ice cream cone in Amsterdam a year ago. I thought I was the only one who collected rubber duckies!

I didn’t see the Napoleon one, we will have to go back to Invalides!
