It’s July and right now the sun is shining, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that is the way it will be when school breaks up.
June kicked off with half term which gave us lots of time to explore. One of my favourite galleries is the Queen’s Gallery, the Teens and I headed off there to see Canaletto and the Art of Venice. At the other end of half term we went to Shakespeare’s Globe to watch a production of Romeo and Juliet. On the last day of June we met up with Mr CW after work and checked out the new courtyard and gallery at the V&A. Our plans are fluid as the end of term mayhem swirls around, but one place I want to revisit with the Teens is Pavilion at the Serpentine Gallery.
My choice for #CulturedKids in July is looking back to our summer holidays last year. We started and ended our travels in Munich and before we left I was uncertain as to whether it would be possible to visit the city’s beer gardens with Teens in tow. Turns out that the answer was yes, so much so that they were the only places that we ate out. Many happy memories were recalled writing Can you visit Munich Beer Gardens with Children?
Thank you to everybody who linked up in June, I really enjoyed hosting for the first time and had a great time virtually visiting so many interesting places. Three posts that particularly caught my eye were:
Glamis Castle with Kids by Tots2Travel
Now that is what I call a castle! Tots2Travel had just enough time to discover that Princess Margaret was born at the castle before one of the tots decided that they had enough of the guided tour. Thankfully the gardens and cafe provided more entertainment.
I love a small quirky museum and really, really want to visit Sweden. Wander Mum has visited Sweden and found the deliciously quirky Matchstick Museum which is now firmly on my list of places I want to visit.
A Night at the Bulgakov Museum Moscow. And the other one too by Kidding Herself
One of my all time favourite books is The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov so a visit to not one but two places associated with the author were click bait to me. Kidding Herself took her family on an exploration of as many museums as they could fit in on Moscow’s Museum Night. They managed four and an art gallery – impressive!
