Church on the Hill Lyon

Everywhere you go your eye is caught by a startling white church on the hill in Lyon.  So often interiors of landmark buildings disappoint but not the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière.  One side is all sparkling mosaics and on the other, the simpler Chapel of the Virgin.  It was in the quieter chapel that we saw these votive candles begging to have their photo taken.

To see what else we got up to in Lyon, you can read my Weekend in Lyon with Teens post.

Before you go …… I have been nominated for two categories in the UK Blog Awards.  It would be super if you could cast your vote for me in either the Arts and Culture or Travel section, or maybe even both.  Click on the badge to go through to the voting page.

When I looked at the thumbnail of your pic, I thought it was a big birthday cake, then I realised it’s something far more serene! Lovely pic! 🙂 #sundayphoto
